Marina Díaz
A pastel-but-vivid identity and an online shop for hand-sewn baby and children's clothing, from six brand directions to numbered orders and payment links.

(01) Overview
Marina Díaz sews clothing and accessories for babies and young children, one piece at a time, each one signed with a leather label engraved with her MD monogram. She sold only through Instagram and WhatsApp. The project gave the brand a complete identity system and a shop with a catalogue, a cart that turns into a numbered order, payment links and an admin panel she runs herself.

The Challenge
The brief was one line: vivid styles in pastel colours. Pastel with energy, never washed out, and without the 'handmade with love' cliché of the category. The mark had to survive embroidery, laser engraving on leather and die-cut stickers, stay legible at 16 px and use at most two colours per version. And the physical leather label already existed, so the identity had to be built around it.
The Approach
A client cannot judge an identity from a themed website, so each of six directions was rendered as a complete board (logo, palette, Instagram profile, type, patterns and applications) and compared side by side. Marina chose Confitería. Palette and layout were then decided separately: three homepage structures were built in the approved colours so the layout choice would not reopen the colour one. The monogram was vectorised from the real leather tag and stored as a path, so it exports cleanly and never depends on an installed font.

(02) Brand & Design System
Confitería is sweet, bright and a little playful: strawberry pink leads, with mint, butter yellow and lilac over cream, and plum instead of pure black. Shapes are generous (pill buttons, 12, 18 and 26 px radii, nothing sharp). The mark is an eight-lobed flower with the MD knocked out, Fraunces carries the headings and Satisfy appears only in short phrases. Eight brand patterns, from gingham to polka dots, fill the illustrated products and the social pieces.

(03) The Product
Compare systems, not swatches
Six candidate identities, each as a full board with lockup, palette with tokens, Instagram profile, type specimen, brand patterns and real applications. The comparison copies its tokens from the design system on every run, so the two never drift apart.
Three homepages in one palette
Vitrina, Taller and Galería: three structural bets for the homepage built in the already approved colours and captured automatically next to the current site, so the client chooses a layout without reopening the palette decision.
A catalogue that works before the photos exist
Category filters, search and an in-stock toggle over product cards with price, sale price and unit. With no product photography yet, pieces are illustrated in SVG filled with the brand patterns, showing the palette applied to what Marina actually sells.
From cart to numbered order
The cart keeps quantities and totals and hands the order over through WhatsApp. On the admin side each order can be adjusted for shipping and discounts, charged with a payment link, marked as paid or cancelled.
Previewed where the brand actually sells
Because the business lives on Instagram, every direction was mocked up as a realistic profile: avatar, bio, highlight icons and a nine-tile grid mixing products, patterns and typographic promos.
Vectorised from the leather label
The MD engraved on the physical tag was rebuilt as a vector path. Four candidate strokes were compared on a rendering of the real label, and the leather colours are fixed tokens that no theme can change, because the label is a physical object.
(04) The Outcome
An identity approved by the client and a shop built on its tokens, live at marinadiazhechoamano.com. Orders are captured from the cart with a number; the admin can generate a Mercado Pago payment link to send over WhatsApp, and an order is marked as paid by three independent paths (the payment webhook, the customer's return page or a manual check), so a missed notification never loses a sale. The payment and order logic is covered by unit tests that run without network or database.
